Heres a page on the descriptions of the items in OoT and how to get them.
Kokiri Sword- Your first sword in the game, it is required to get into the Great Deku Tree. To obtain this sword, you must go past the Know-It-All-Brothers house and up to the plateua like structure with the fences, bushes, and training kokiri. Near the wall is a tunnel. Climb into it and navigate the short maze to get it.
Master Sword- This sword is far more powerful than the Kokiri Sword. You obtain it after you get into the Temple of Time. It is your default Adult Link Sword.
Medigoron Sword- You can get this sword(though its really kind of useless) by visiting Medigoron in Goron City as a kid. You will have to blast through a few weak walls to get to him. Pay him a fee and come back as an adult to claim this sword. Beware though! It will break quickly with use.
Biggoron Sword-This sword is even more powerful than the other two swords. It is obtained by the long trade sequence (see our other section on the trade sequence). It can even be used in place of the Megaton Hammer in the battle with Ganon!
Kokiri Boots-These are your default boots for both young and old Link. Though they have no powers, they are stylish!
Iron Boots-To get these boots, you must beat the Ice Wolverine in the Ice Carverns. These boots can be used to sink underwater to retrive normally unacessable items. Be sure to get a Zora Tunic first though!
Hover Boots-These boots are very useful and my favorites. They allow you to hover in the air for a few seconds. They are quite useful and fun to use. They are obtained in the Shadow Temple.
Kokiri Tunic-Your default tunic for both Young and Adult Link, it also has no special powers, but can be quite stylish...sort of.
Goron Tunic-This is the red Goron Tunic (My Favorite!) It is quite resistant to fire and heat for the Fire Temple and Death Mountain Crater. You can get it as going to Goron City as an Adult and stopping the rolling goron on floor two by chucking a bomb at it. It can also be purchased in the Goron Store.
Zora Tunic- This tunic is the blue tuinic of the Zora. It will allow you to breath underwater (use with Iron Boots). You can either get it by freeing King Zora with Blue Fire as an adult or by buying it for 200 ruppees at the Zora Shop.
Deku Shield- This is the first shield you recieve as a child. You can get it by buying it at the Kokiri Store for 40 Rupees. Later, Buisness Scrubs may sell you them at other places. The downside to it is that it burns up after contact with fire.
Hylian Shield-This shield is bought at Bazaars for 80 rupees in Hyrule Castle Town. (65 if you get the discount from the guard for the Keaton Mask) It is used to cover Child Link completely and is the default Adult Shield. It will not burn up with contact with fire though.
Mirror Shield- The Mirror Shield is gotten in the Spirit Temple as Adult Link. It can reflect light and is essential in the Spirit Temple boss battle. It can also be used to reflect light and reveal hidden places.
Deku Stick-This item is very common though mostly lies dormant in your inventory. It can be used to hit enemies once and then it breaks. But it also can be used as a torch to burn torches to activate things and break obstables also!
Deku Seeds- These too, are common and somewhat weak. These are used for temporarily paralyzing enemies, though I think that a sword or other weapon does the work quicker.
Slingshot-This item is the featured item obtained in the Great Deku Tree. It can be used to shot far off objects such as switches. It is almost a "little brother" of the Fairy Bow.
Bombs-Bombs are obtained in Dodongo's Cavern and have a significance in both child and adult stages of the game. Tney can kill enemies and trigger switches as well.
Bombachu-These are not gotten in a temple, but found in various chests and bought in a Child Link store in Hyrule Castle down(in the alleys)They are put on the ground and then move foward for a short duration, climbing up walls and exploding once there fuse burns up. They're great for blowing up things in areas blocked by bars.
Magic Beans- These Items are found at Zora River as a child. As you enter, on the left there is a fat man eating beans. You can buy up to ten beans from him. Though each time you buy them, they raise 10 rupees in price! You'll end up spending 550 rupees on these if you buy them all, so come back every so often when you have more money. Why buy these beans you ask? As a child, you will see 10 dirt patches scattered around Hyrule(Graveyard, Dodongo's Cavern Entrance, Spirit Temple Entrance to name 3). You can either put bugs in them (gold skultula pops out) or plant a seed. After planting the seeds come back as an adult to find a plant. They will fly you to places where you'll get Heart Containers and other prizes.
Boomerang-The Boomerang is sort of a childs version of the hookshot(with limited abilty) It is obtained in Jabu Jabu's Belly and can be used to kill enemies and retrieve object/trigger switches. It's great for those hard to reach Skultula Tokens and switches.
Fairy Ocarina-The Fairy Ocarina is gotten after you leave Kokiri Forest with the Spiritual Stone from the Deku Tree. Saria will give you it and leave. It can be used just like the Ocarina of Time to play songs, but you need to learn them first.
Ocarina of Time-The next and last Ocarina after the Fairy Ocarina. Though they can both do the same things, the Ocarina of TImr is required to get into the Temple of Time. To get it, approach Hyrule Castletown after getting all three Spiritual Stones. A cutscene will appear and Zelda will throw the ocarina in the moat. After the cutscene, dive down into the moat and retrieve it.
Hookshot-The Hookshot is one of favorites. It is obtained as Adult Link after keeping up with Dampy in a race. (To find him, push the grave with flowers at the left of the graveyard) It can be used to kill enemies, reach places, and even retrieve items.
Fairy Bow-The Fairy Bow is the Adult Version of the Slingsot. It is gotten in the Forest Temple. After a bit, you can find upgrades for your arrows to get new reactions from your environment wihe you shoot your charged up arrows! This weapon also is great for long distance combat.
Power-ups (for arrows)- You can get 3 powerups for your arrows in this game; The Fire Arrows, Ice Arrows, and Light Arrows. The Fire Arrows are Obtained as Adult Link after you have completed the Water Temple. Swim out to the center island with the large tree during early morning and stand near the plaque with the riddle on it. Shoot the rising sun with your Fairy Bow and they will appear on the island in front of you. Swim out to it and you will get the Fire Arrows. (2 MP per use) The Ice Arrows(2 MP) are gotten as the reward for completing the Gerudo Training Ground course. The Light Arrows(4 MP) are gotten after you recieve all 6 Medallions and meet up with "Shiek" in the temple. Use them to beat Ganon/Ganadorf.
Megaton Hammer-The Megaton Hammer is gotten in the Fire Temple. It is quite powerful and can be used to pound down those hard-to-activate switches. It also is useful in the battle with Ganon.
Longshot-You get this in the Water Temple after defeating Dark Link. It is simply a hookshot with a much longer chain. Though much more useful.
Lens of Truth-The Lens of Truth is gotten in the Bottom of the Well in Kakariko Village as a child. (You can't get them until you complete the Water Temple). It can be used to see traps, false walls, and even invisible holes and chests. It is also used to "cheat" in the Treasure Chest Game in Hyrule Castle Town. (Just equip it and you can see which chest has the key!)
Gerudo Membership Card-This item is gotten after you free all 4 carpenters in Gerudo Valley. It allows you to gain access to the facilities of the Gerudo Training Ground, Horseback Shooting Range, and the Haunted Wasteland.
Silver Gauntlets-These are gotten as a child in the Spirit Temple. They give you overwhelming strengh so that you can now lift and push large boulders and objects that you couldn't before.
Golden Gauntlets-These are gotten at the very end of the game in Ganon's Tower. In the Shadow Room, navigate the invisible path(using the Lens of Truth) and claim your prize. They can be used to open the Great Fairy Fountain outside of the castle and a few other uses as well, such as lifting and pushing objects that your Silver Gauntlets couldn't manage.
